In 2021, Mayor Bowser invested a historic $400 million into the Housing Production Trust Fund. Since coming into office, Mayor Bowser has invested $1 billion into DC’s Housing Production Trust Fund.

At the start of her second term, Mayor Bowser set a bold goal to deliver 36,000 new homes – including at least 12,000 affordable homes – by 2025. That same year, Washington, DC became the first city in the nation to set affordable housing goals by neighborhood.
